I had a great week in Memphis with Habitat for Humanity for the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project. For over 30 years, the President and Mrs. Carter have spent a week building with Habitat for Humanity. They are amazing folks!

Through the course of eight nights in Memphis, I had 4 days where I ate Ribs. My favorite were at Central BBQ downtown, eating there twice to make sure. (They had both wet and dry style, so I did half and half, though I still liked the dry rub of Charlie Vergos's Rendezvous.) I did like the way the meat came right off the bone at Blues City Cafe, but I didn't think the flavor was as good. Of course, I may have already been too full to enjoy it -- but the live music there was great!

Of course, nothing is quite like standing on top of the big pyramid of the Bass Pro Shop overlooking the Mighty Mississippi.
