Here's Jeanene standing on the beach as KLM's Boeing 747 flies over:
It is really an incredible experience watching these planes land and take off. But be careful:
Right by the beach is Sunset Bar & Grill, one of my favorite bars in the world:
Friday night, we had a great dinner at a little French restaurant right across from the hotel, Le Charolais. Sitting outside upstairs, overlooking the street, we got to see a fun street show down below us:
On Saturday, we rented a car and drove from the Dutch side of the island to the French section, where we visited Orient Beach. Unfortunately, rain was off and on all day, so we didn't really get to stay on the beach before having to run into a bar for cover:
We had lunch at a great little creperie near Orient Beach called Paradise View, where I had a crepe with bacon, mushrooms, onions, and a cream sauce that was incredible. The view was also great, as the name would imply:
Driving back, there were torrential rain storms and we had to drive through what seemed like a river to get back to Maho Beach. After we got back, we went to Tortuga Bar and Grill where Jeanene's friend T-Bone and Kelvin worked (great mango coladas!) and weathered out the storm:
