Minneapolis, MN

Jonathan and I flew into Minneapolis for the Delta Block Party on June 18.  We checked into the Westin downtown -- great location and amazing hotel. It was a former old bank--the historic Farmers and Mechanics Bank building. In fact, the lobby restaurant is now called Bank, and it is beautiful:

The Westin was kind enough to upgrade me to a suite with perhaps the largest hallway I've ever had in a hotel:

 While we were there, I took a picture of Jonathan in the window of the hotel that he posted on Facebook. It was met with critical acclaim:

A highlight of the trip was shopping at Mall of America. What I didn't realize was that clothes have no sales tax in Minnesota--so if you are shopping for new jeans, this is the place to be. 

And of course, there's always the statue of Mary Tyler Moore:
