London

We left Frankfurt on British Air on March 28 and spent the afternoon at the Tate Britain, the national gallery of British art. http://www.tate.org.uk/britain/

Above is a picture I took of Tate Britain as I entered.

We conducted focus groups that night until late in the evening, then had Indian food for dinner. While at dinner, Claire from our London ad agency wrote out an itinerary for the perfect day in London, which Alex (from my NY ad agency) and I would do the following day.

So the next morning we left our hotel at Victoria Station (the Hesperia) and headed to the Tate Modern. (The hotel is in a very convenient location. I would defintely stay there again. http://www.hesperia.com/hotels/Hesperia-London-Victoria/.) The Tate Modern is the British gallery of international modern and contemporary art, showcasing art from 1900 to the present day.

After leaving the Tate Modern, we had a look at Shakespeare's Globe Theater, just beyond the Tate.

After leaving the Globe, we walked back west along the Thames river, then walked across the footbridge North where I took this picture of the Tower Bridge in the distance, before heading to the London ad agency to meet Claire for lunch.

I also snapped this photo of Saint Paul's Cathedral on the way to lunch.

Following lunch and a meeting at the agency, Alex and I went to Harrods. I had heard lots about Harrods, but had never been there. It is truly an amazing store, like nothing I have ever seen--gigantic and beautiful. I can't imagine being able to sustain something like that anywhere else in the world.
After Harrods, we took the Tube (Picadilly Line East) to to Holborn to go to the British Museum, where I saw the Rosetta Stone and classic antiquities, including the Elgin Marbles, sculptures from the Parthenon.

I definitely needed to spend more time in the British Museum to see everything there is to see, but unfortunately, we didn't have that much time before closing time.

Finally, after having some pints at a few London pubs, we headed to the West End to the Gielgud for an evening of theater--Equus, starring Daniel Radcliffe of Harry Potter fame and Richard Griffiths. Griffiths, also in the Potter movies, had a most incredible performance.

Frankfurt

I arrived in Frankfurt on March 27 and spent the day walking around the city. Lunch was awesome-- If you are in Frankfurt, do a little walking and shopping, and be sure to stop by the Schlemmermeyer Deli.

Mexico City

A couple of nights in Mexico City, at the Melia Reforma. If you ever need a place to stay in Mexico City, it is really a great hotel.

VEGAS!

March 14-18, 2007

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas... usually. At least the $50 I bet on Duke in the opening game of the NCAA tournament stayed in Vegas. I met a bunch of my fraternity brothers for a few days at the Mirage, where I stayed in a gorgeous suite. Here are pics of my view and our suite.
